MIIC is a Windsor, Ontario based duo centered around a balance between tactile and computerized improvisation. Using Ableton Live, David Bergeron (left) aims to play his computer using traditional improvisatory concepts by embracing spontaneous ideas and moments. David does not begin with any prepared material but, strictly uses real time capture of marimbist Nicholas Papador (right) as raw material to improvise. These parameters promote an organic creativity that forces Nicholas and David to listen, react and develop a shape of the improvisation together.
